IT Center EMEA comprises three departments: IT Planning (PLAN), IT Development (BUILD) and IT Infrastructure (RUN). IT Development has two competence centres – Madrid and Oostkamp – where you will work.
This department consists of 20 internal colleagues, supported by external consultants and an offshore team. The group is young and dynamic, with a strong team spirit and open communication. We implement innovative IT solutions for our 7,500+ Daikin group colleagues across Europe and the Middle East.
In support of Daikin Europe's ambitious digital transformation strategy, we have designed a Data & Analytics Strategy based on our Data platform (Azure + Databricks Lakehouse), featuring big data, advanced analytics and ML/(Gen)AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
After an extensive introduction and training period, your main challenges will be:
In cooperation with IT colleagues and international key users, you will analyse the requirements for management reporting and data insights across a wide range of business areas (manufacturing, logistics, finance, supply planning, sales, master data, R&D, HR, ...).
As a data architect, you'll draft implementation proposals based on our centralized Microsoft Azure/Databricks & Power BI platform or newer niche technologies in line with the Data & Analytics strategy.
You will manage and document an overall view of our data assets, identifying opportunities to improve or create new Daikin business (data management, data monetisation). You will shape our data platform where data from different existing platforms (internal or external, structured or non‐structured) can be combined into a consistent, well‐designed data & analytics architecture.
You will explore latest technologies to address big data challenges (connecting machines, products, cloud platforms...) and add advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities to our current analytics architecture, including a robust governance structure. You'll run proof of concepts to validate business value.
You will be assigned to lead analytics projects. In doing so, you will follow Daikin's project management methodology to deliver high‐quality IT solutions to business, coordinating a team of internal and external IT colleagues and developers.
You will work closely with the Business Analytics team, our business counterpart in the Analytics Centre of Expertise. In this role, you will strongly support the standardisation and promotion of pan‐European reports and analytics solutions .
You will co‐draft the Generative AI roadmap for Daikin Europe, gathering requirements from all divisions and designing a future‐proof architecture and roadmap.
You are prepared to present your area of expertise to key users and management.
You will collaborate closely with our Enterprise Architect team within IT Planning.
Beyond these tasks, you will stay abreast of future analytics evolutions and trends (predictive/prescriptive BI, real‐time/embedded analytics in S/4HANA, big data from our units, data lakes, cloud or hybrid data warehousing, ...), and further conceive the Data Analytics & Gen AI strategy & roadmap. During this process, you will need to study, plan and drive innovation, collaborate with experts, identify business cases and bring the strategy into reality.
Qualifications
You have a master's degree as an economist, engineer, computer scientist or an equivalent field.
Academic knowledge and a first experience in data analytics, architecture or BI is a plus .
You have an analytical and innovative spirit and an interest in company processes; you strive for optimal use of data within the company.
You are pragmatically established, with a strong focus on the latest IT innovations .
You have a solution‐oriented mindset and a drive to continuously improve your area.
You have the necessary self‐discipline to create and follow up on a plan.
You are a team player and work to establish and maintain good relationships with both IT and business colleagues. You have good communication skills and are not afraid to present to groups.
You are prepared to occasionally travel to Daikin group companies in Europe.
You have analytic and communicative skills in English ; Dutch will be a plus.
