Role Overview
The Workplace Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the digital workplace environment, ensuring seamless IT infrastructure operations, M365 services, and end-user support. The role combines system administration, cloud services, and collaboration tools management, with strong interaction with IT, internal stakeholders, and business units.

Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure & Systems Administration
* Manage and support Windows Server (2019–2022) and Linux environments
* Administer Active Directory (Domain Controllers, GPOs, OUs, LDAP groups
* Perform user and access management, including security groups
* Support network operations (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
* Monitor system performance, logs, and ensure patch management & update
* Apply cybersecurity fundamentals (firewalls, antivirus, access control, vulnerability handling
* Execute basic scripting (PowerShell, Bash) for automation)
* Support backup and disaster recovery procedure
* Troubleshoot infrastructure and system issue
* Manage and monitor virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V – optional
* Work with application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat
* Perform basic database handling (SQL fundamentals)
Microsoft 365 & Digital Workplace
* Administer SharePoint Online (SPO)
* Site Collection Administrator responsibilities
* Permissions and governance management
* Manage Microsoft Teams settings (group setup, privacy)
* Support and promote modern ways of working
* Provide training and coaching to end users (M365 tools, permissions, privacy)
* Participate in governance meetings
* M365 Core Team (twice weekly)
* Local Champions (weekly)
* Network Contact Points (monthly)
* Analyze and follow up business requests and M365-related projects
* Manage knowledge repositories and collaboration tools
Restricted Pools / File Servers
* Administer MARE file server environments
* Manage:
* Active Directory access
* Security groups
* GPOs and OU structures
* Ensure secure and compliant access to restricted data
AWS Cloud – SRV4DEV (Developers Service)
* Manage AWS environments, including:
* Workspaces, EC2, RDS, S3 buckets
* IAM users and policies
* MFA setup via API
* User management (API-based)
* Billing and cost tracking (AWS Console & iCOCO)
* Participate in SRV4DEV governance meetings
* Manage subscriptions (e.g., Amazon Q/Kiro)
DWP-IRM & Service Management
* Manage user requests via ServiceNow (Staff Center)
* IT equipment requests
* Access rights (shared drives, DLs, tools)
* Software approval workflows
* Administer workplace tools:
* OMS (Ownership Management System)
* Participate in IT/CAM governance meetings
* Manage software licenses compliance and allocation
* Execute bi-annual chargeback exercises xphnsxz
* Support rollout and improvements:
* Laptop deployment
* VPN setup
* Domain (Welcome) management policies
Key Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of Windows Server & Linux
* Expertise in Active Directory & Identity Management
* Good understanding of networks and protocols
* Experience with M365 (SharePoint, Teams, governance)
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, M365)
* Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash)
* Knowledge of monitoring tools and ITSM platforms
* Exposure to virtualization and application servers
* Basic SQL knowledge
