Overview
DevOps Engineer – Private Cloud in NRB. The role specializes in VMware vSphere and VMware Aria (formerly vRealize) to design, automate, and operate a modern private/hybrid cloud platform. The mission is to deliver Infrastructure as a Service capabilities to internal product and application teams by standardizing and automating provisioning, configuration, lifecycle management, and observability across a VMware-based platform.
Your Mission
As a DevOps Engineer – Private Cloud, you will maintain reusable automation (blueprints, workflows, pipelines, IaC modules), integrate platform services into CI/CD and self-service portals, and ensure the platform meets enterprise requirements for availability, security, compliance, performance, and cost/capacity efficiency.
Responsibilities
* Design, automate, and operate a secure, scalable, and reliable VMware-based private cloud platform.
* Enable fast, compliant self-service provisioning through standardized blueprints, catalog items, and automation workflows.
* Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, PowerCLI, and Git, ensuring version control and governance.
* Develop and integrate automation and workflows using VMware Aria Automation and Aria Orchestrator.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and API integrations with enterprise systems (ITSM, CMDB, identity, monitoring).
* Ensure platform reliability and performance through monitoring, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and proactive remediation (SRE approach).
* Support incident and problem management with root cause analysis and automation-driven prevention.
* Integrate and operate container platforms (e.g., Red Hat OpenShift) within the VMware ecosystem, promoting GitOps practices.
* Enforce security-by-design principles, including RBAC, hardening, and audit-ready controls.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, infrastructure, network, security, and applications) to deliver seamless platform services.
Your Team
You will be joining the Private Cloud team, whose mission is to operate, secure, and continuously improve NRB’s private cloud platforms by combining strong operational excellence with automation and DevOps practices, enabling reliable and modern cloud services for NRB clients. The team comprises over 30 colleagues specialized in various technologies and is part of the Cloud Infrastructure as a Service department.

Job Requirements
Your Profile
* Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* Mid-to-senior level with 5+ years in VMware infrastructure
* 2–5+ years in DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code
* Strong hands-on experience delivering automation and platform solutions
* Solid experience with vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, and enterprise virtualization operations
* IaC & Tooling: Terraform, Ansible, Git, CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins), and secrets management.
* Operating Systems: Linux and Windows Server administration
Technical knowledge to be developed together
* VMware certifications: VCF, VCP, VCAP (DCV or Cloud Management & Automation).
* OpenShift/Kubernetes experience: cluster operations, day-2 ops, security context, RBAC, operators.
* ITSM integration experience including automation around tickets/requests and CMDB.
* Familiarity with enterprise network/security concepts: firewalls, proxies, certificates/PKI, IAM/SSO.
* Exposure to SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, postmortems, automation-driven reliability.
