Technical team manager

We're looking for a Technical Manager to join our fast-growing startup!


As an Technical Manager, you will build and grow a high-impact team—recruiting, mentoring, and managing our ten engineers as we expand. You’ll lead from the front as a technical leader who codes, reviewing PRs, and diving deep into architecture, while also building and nurturing a high-impact engineering team of around 10 engineers. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Product & Technology, acting as their right hand in transforming business needs into scalable, high-quality technology.


Responsabilities:


* Grow and lead a high-performing team of 10 engineers.
* Provide 1:1 coaching and support career development across the team.
* Set and uphold high standards for ownership, commitment, and impact.
* Leverage AI tools and practices to boost team productivity and scalability.
* Write production-level code and actively participate in development tasks.
* Review pull requests, contribute to key modules, and debug complex issues.
* Promote a strong engineering culture focused on quality, velocity, and impact.
* Design, implement, and optimize scalable and reliable system architecture.
* Evaluate trade-offs and select appropriate frameworks and technologies.
* Ensure architectural decisions align with business goals.
* Implement monitoring, incident response processes, and blameless post-mortems.
* Ensure data security and privacy best practices are followed.
* Align engineering roadmap with business goals in partnership with Product leadership.
* Own and manage engineering budget, vendor relationships, and headcount planning.
* Balance team growth with operational discipline and startup efficiency.


Requirements:


* 2+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
* Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams effectively.
* Previous experience in a startup, scale-up, or relevant side projects is a strong plus.
* Hands-on background in code contributions, architectural design, and solving technical challenges.
* Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure operations and CI/CD automation.
* Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
* Strong technical background (Node.js and AWS).
* Strong product mindset with a focus on delivery and outcomes.
* Action-oriented with the ability to ship quickly without compromising quality.
* Experience defining and tracking engineering KPIs.
* Familiarity with monitoring, incident management, and operational excellence.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent.
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with product, design, and analytics stakeholders.
* Passion for fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
