This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, including senior management, market access, corporate communications, regulatory affairs, patient advocacy, and legal teams to drive policy outcomes that promote access to medicines, influence regulatory frameworks, and protect intellectual property. /p pThe Senior Director will collaborate with the Head of EU GAPP in defining the government affairs and public policy strategic plan for Europe and will be responsible for its implementation towards the EU institutions (EU Commission, EU Parliament, EU Council and other relevant EU bodies). The Senior Director will be working with the EU Institutions, and engage with key external stakeholders and pan-European organizations, including policymakers, relevant stakeholder organizations, trade associations and other policy influencers. /p pAdditionally, the Senior Director will support the Head European Government Affairs and Public Policy in monitoring, engaging and shaping the policy landscape for access policy topics across EU and non EU countries, supporting closely market access colleagues in their advocacy. /p pThis role requires close partnership with Corporate Affairs function to ensure a cohesive strategy and alignment for activities at national level and international level. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDevelop and execute a government affairs strategy for the EU advocating for policies that improve regulatory processes, promote market access, and ensure the protection of intellectual property rights in alignment with the company’s headquarter business priorities in Europe. /li liEnsure proper and timely monitor of the external environment to protect and advance company’s business, implementing specific engagement approaches with the European institutions and authorities for all relevant legislative (and non) files potentially affecting our sector and our priorities (e.g. health policy, regulatory processes, market access priorities, protection of intellectual property). Special attention is required also for EU files outside of the strictly health domain. /li liEngage proactively with the EU institutions, as well as with national representatives, to influence public policies and frameworks that support biopharmaceutical innovation model. /li liServe as a key member of the EU GAPP team, collaborating with GAPP colleagues to ensure a cohesive, coordinated policy approach, especially in areas where EU, Switzerland and U.S. priorities intersect. /li liWork with market access to monitor, engage and shape policies to foster a framework that accelerates time to patient access and rewards innovation, and support the Head of European Government Affairs and Public Policy in monitoring policies development and cross countries initiatives which may negatively affect access. /li liCollaborate cross-functionally with legal and intellectual property teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative frameworks, addressing potential legal challenges /li liWork with Patient Advocacy to ensure that patient perspectives are included in policy discussions and that access to medicines remains a priority. /li liDevelop policy resources, deliver events and based on a strong external network build policy partnerships and coalitions as required /li liCultivate and maintain strong relationships with policymakers, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders in Switzerland to shape the environment /li liRepresent the company in trade associations and other industry forums, collaborating with peers to shape collective policy positions and advocate for pro-innovation policies, including the protection of intellectual property. /li /ul h3Supervisory Responsibilities /h3 ul liNumber of Associates: NA /li liFinancial Responsibility: Budgetary discretion dependent upon priorities and allocation through planning process /li liThe role requires cross-functional management skills /li /ul h3Computer Skills /h3 pbStrong experience with MS Office Suite /b, including SharePoint, and project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet.
