Position Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Web Application Hosting / Middleware Engineer responsible for operating, maintaining, and evolving the hosting environment of web applications. The role involves managing technical hosting, access control, and in-flow security controls while supporting application teams with deployments, maintenance, and lifecycle management across multiple environments.
The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, compliance, and auditability of application platforms in line with organizational security, risk, and regulatory standards, particularly within regulated or audited environments. The role also requires collaboration with development, security, and infrastructure teams to improve automation, CI/CD processes, and overall platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and evolve web application hosting environments, ensuring stability, performance, and scalability.
* Implement and maintain access control mechanisms, including web access management and Single Sign-On (SSO).
* Support application deployment, configuration changes, and maintenance across different environments.
* Ensure compliance with organizational security, risk, and audit requirements.
* Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including artifact governance and automated deployments.
* Automate operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools.
* Work with networking and infrastructure teams to manage DNS, load balancers, and firewall configurations.
* Monitor system performance and ensure reliability, security, and operational efficiency of hosting platforms.
* Provide support for incident resolution, system upgrades, and lifecycle management of applications and infrastructure.
Required Skills & Experience
* Access & Directory Services: Experience with Web Access Management, SSO, and LDAP directory services.
* Access Management: Strong understanding of LDAP concepts, role-based access middleware, and identity/access integration.
* CI/CD & Automation: Experience designing repositories, pipelines, artifact governance, and automation using Bash or Ansible.
* Containerization & Orchestration: Knowledge of container technologies (Docker/Podman) and OpenShift as a platform consumer.
* Delivery & Deployment: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and processes including build, security scan, promotion, deployment, and rollback.
* Networking: Solid understanding of DNS, Load Balancers, and Firewalls.
* Operating Systems: Strong RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) administration experience.
* Web & Application Tier: Experience managing web servers, application servers, and reverse proxies.
* Regulated Environment: Experience working in regulated or audited environments with strong compliance standards.
Experience Level
* 4–5+ years of relevant professional experience in web application hosting, middleware, or platform engineering roles.
