Notre client dans le secteur Énergie et ressources naturelles recherche un Senior SCADA Software Engineer H/F Descriptif de la mission:
Profile – Senior SCADA Software Engineer
Context and objective of the mission
Join a realtime industrial solutions team responsible for a business-critical SCADA system operating 24/7 to keep a power perimeter balanced across several European countries, including Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. The mission supports the extension of the geographical scope and the integration of smaller and more flexible assets as part of the transition to zero-carbon energy.
The team develops tools used for the real-time control of power plants, the integration of flexibility assets, and compliance with European grid codes. These tools are mainly used to:
• monitor production assets and available capacities from power plants
• exchange information between TSOs and the real-time SCADA system
• calculate real-time setpoints sent to power plants to keep the power perimeter balanced, based on production plans, real-time acquisition and other inputs such as FCR, aFRR and mFRR
Specific role
The application used to provide the services is MicroSCADA SYS600 version X.
The backend development language within MicroSCADA is SCIL (Supervisory Control Implementation Language), and the frontend is web-based using proprietary HTML, CSS and JavaScript-based technologies.
Main responsibilities
As a developer, the role includes:
• developing and maintaining the SCADA X application used to keep the power perimeter in balance
• working on both front-end and back-end development using SCIL, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and TypeScript
• applying architectural design principles to build scalable and robust solutions
• applying software craftsmanship principles such as SOLID, DRY, KISS and YAGNI to produce clean, maintainable and resilient code
• collaborating in an Agile/SAFe environment with analysts, dispatchers and technical teams
• contributing to on-call support after onboarding to ensure system availability and grid stability in a 24/7 business-critical environment
Additional information
The team will support the consultant during the first months to improve programming skills in the specific environment. A SCIL programming basics training must be followed early at the start of the mission and coordinated with the technology provider.
Work location and organization
The office is located in Linkebeek, Belgium. A minimum on-site presence of 3 days per week is required, with remote work allowed for the remaining days depending on assignments. Flexible hours apply, with a workday starting no later than 09:00 and ending no earlier than 16:00. Frequent visits to dispatch colleagues in Brussels are part of the assignment. Short missions abroad may exceptionally occur. A car and driver’s license are required, as sporadic on-site plant visits can be part of the job.

Requirements
Profile required
Education and experience:
• Master’s degree with a specialization in IT and/or electrical engineering, such as software, electronics or electromechanics
• At least 3 years of relevant experience
Technical skills and knowledge:
• industrial mindset combined with a high level of software engineering, including architecture and design patterns
• understanding of the basics of electricity production and grid transport
• knowledge of SCIL for backend development
• web development skills for the front-end: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript
• version control and CI/CD implementation supported by GitHub
• awareness of cybersecurity principles in industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments
• understanding of compliance constraints related to NIS 2 regulation
