A well-established international company is currently looking for a Chief Accountant to strengthen its finance team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate and complete accounting of all financial data across the general ledger and integrated sub-ledgers (customers, suppliers, cost centers, projects).
* Take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations and ensure efficient processes.
* Support the Finance Manager in implementing financial policies and decision-making.
* Prepare monthly balance sheet and P&L and manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.
* Ensure accurate and timely VAT and tax compliance.
* Manage banking relationships and cash management activities, including guarantee requests.
* Coordinate internal and external audits and oversee the general ledger function.
* Lead and supervise a team of 5 people.
* Collaborate closely with departments such as Procurement, HR, and Controlling.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement and digitalisation of accounting processes.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Strong command of MS Excel; experience with SAP and/or FIRST is an asset.
* Fluent in Dutch and French, with a good level of English.
* Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
* Structured, solution-oriented, communicative, and a strong team player.
* Able to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
