The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and support our diverse policy work. You will get the opportunity to work on flagship projects such as the Innovation Fund, studies related to climate diplomacy, and the transformation of our society towards a net-zero, nature positive and socially just model. Some of our flagship projects include: /pulliProviding continuous expertise since 2019 to support the successful implementation of the EU Emissions Trading System’s Innovation Fund; /liliSupporting the design of decarbonisation strategies and transition pathways at EU and national level; /liliSupporting the development of a long-term research and innovation agenda towards 2050 climate neutrality (see reporta here /a); /liliDesigning Sustainable Finance Action Plans for different EU Member States (e.g. Poland, Italy) to redirect public and private capitals towards the low carbon transition; /liliDelivering thea European Business and Biodiversity Platform /asince 2013 for the European Commission; /liliEvaluating the impact of green bonds on supporting climate mitigation investments for thea European Investment Bank /aand European Bank for Reconstruction Development. /li /ulpResponsibilities /ppYou will work as part of a multi-national, multi-disciplinary and collaborative team of climate and environmental experts, economists, engineers, financial experts, and communication specialists to: /pulliProject manage the delivery of projects for public clients, taking the lead in overseeing the deployment of discrete tasks and activities, within quality, time and cost constraints; /liliLead the design and delivery of robust and sound qualitative and quantitative analysis to translate complex data into meaningful and impactful recommendations; /liliEngage with clients to understand their needs on projects and help to shape future tasks and activities, working closely with ICF colleagues and our partners; /liliProactively participate in business development activities, including managing relationships with key clients and subcontractors, proposal writing and promoting the company by providing thought leadership on pertinent topics as part of marketing activities; /liliSupport the development of a sales pipeline that builds on ICF’s track record, bringing your experience in designing and developing compelling service offers and bids; /liliAct as line manager for junior team members and support the growth of ICF’s Brussels-based team. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliRelevant professional experience ofat least 7 years, ideally working in the field of climate policy at EU level, with a good understanding of the latest policy developments impacting (e.g. Clean Industrial Deal, Net Zero Industry Act; EU ETS; etc.); /liliFluency in spoken English and excellent English writing skills; /liliMaster’s degree in environmental economics, ecology, environmental sciences, finance, engineering or a related discipline; /liliDemonstrable experience of public policy project delivery and management; /liliDemonstrable experience of understanding client needs and articulating solutions that effectively integrate the expertise of several delivery organisations; /liliStrong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability, including advanced knowledge of Excel and equivalent tools; /liliProven communication skills and track record in the field of stakeholder engagement, especially within public authorities and the business and finance community; /liliAbility to work independently as well as within multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary consulting teams spread across several countries and time zones. /li /ulpPreferred qualifications skills /pulliFluency in a second EU language; /liliProject management certification such as Prince 2; /liliEntrepreneurial mindset eager to innovate and develop new solutions that respond to evolving client needs. /li /ulpWorking at ICF /ppICF is a global advisory and technology services provider, but we’re not your typical consultants.
