Senior Legal Counsel | Strategic Role

Responsibilities
* Provide expert, business‑driven legal advice across all operations and ensure compliance with Belgian and EU regulations.
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with partners, suppliers and operational stakeholders.
* Oversee legal risk management regarding corporate governance, regulatory compliance, strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day activities.
* Lead dispute resolution and litigation follow‑up, managing external counsel where needed.
* Handle legal aspects of yearly accounts, board and shareholder documentation.
* Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into clear, actionable guidance for management.
* Act as the legal risk gatekeeper, challenging and shaping strategic decisions together with C‑level executives.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams (Operations, Finance, Compliance) to ensure alignment across projects.
* Maintain accurate legal documentation and ensure proper reporting to management.
Ideal profile
* Experience: at least 5 years in corporate/commercial law (law firm and/or in‑house), ideally in regulated industries, financial services, payments, infrastructure, or multi‑site environments.
* Languages: Fluent Dutch & English + strong command of spoken French.
* Qualifications: Master’s degree in Law; specialisation in commercial, corporate, financial or competition law is a strong asset.
