SO WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING? Is an HPLC ‘almost’ working? Is an LC-MS throwing an error message that makes nobody happy? Then you’re the one who keeps a cool head ! As a Junior Engineer, you support our laboratory through maintenance, repairs, calibration and technical troubleshooting of analytical equipment. The focus is on chromatographic systems and general laboratory instrumentation. You work closely with lab technicians, analysts, and external service partners to keep our instruments in top condition (and online ). Maintenance & Repair Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HPLC/UPLC, LC-MS, and other laboratory equipment. Calibrate and adjust the same equipment (yes, even when everything is “almost” right). Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues. Technical Support Act as the first point of contact for lab staff in case of technical questions or malfunctions. Analyze problems and establish an accurate diagnosis. Configure, test, and validate systems after maintenance or software updates. Maintain documentation: logbooks, maintenance reports, and other required records. Quality & Safety Strictly follow internal quality guidelines (we like order and structure). Perform and document IQ/OQ/PQ checks. Actively contribute ideas for improvements in workflows, maintenance procedures, and instrument configurations. Collaboration & Communication Coordinate with external vendors and service engineers for complex interventions. Contribute to knowledge sharing within the team through training, explanations, and technical support. You report to the Senior Engineer. Together, you manage the RIC instrument fleet and make sure that “downtime” remains a rare word… THIS IS YOU? Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Chemistry, or an equivalent professional track record in a technical related field. Experience with chromatography (HPLC) is a strong asset. Basic knowledge of instrument software (such as OpenLab, MassHunter, ChemStation, Empower, or Chromeleon) is a plus. Strong technical insight and a healthy drive for troubleshooting (you want to know why something doesn’t work ) Service-oriented mindset, friendly and communicative. Ability to work accurately, in a structured manner, and independently. Strong sense of responsibility, even when the pressure is high.
