Mission
As part of the Maintenance & Engineering department at Brussels Airlines, the Inventory Manager reports to the Head of Commercial and Supply Chain. In this key role, you will strategically manage and optimize the airline’s technical spare parts inventory to support operational, financial, and safety goals.
You will define and implement stocking policies, align inventory with fleet needs, and address obsolete or excess items. By monitoring performance metrics and ensuring regulatory compliance, you’ll provide valuable insights to senior management. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong inventory management expertise. The position is deputized by the Manager Warehouse & Ops Procurement.
Tasks
Inventory Management and Analysis
1. Define and implement stocking policies aligned with financial, operational, efficiency, and safety targets
2. Analyze inventory metrics (e.g. turnover, lead times, service levels) to improve performance and optimize stock
3. Set stocking criteria to ensure material availability tailored to fleet characteristics
4. Conduct reprovisioning analysis of serialized components based on reliability and performance
5. Review and adjust parameters for automatic reorder proposals
6. Develop and maintain forecasting models using historical data and trends
Aircraft Transition and Obsolescence Management
7. Lead actions on spares for phased-out fleets and manage obsolete/overstocked materials
8. Define sales strategies for scrap and unused items; track sales, loans, and exchanges
9. Collaborate with engineering to assess impacts of new technologies and configurations on inventory
Collaboration and Training
10. Ensure alignment with CAMO, AOC, and Part 145 entities
11. Work with procurement teams to manage part purchases and scrap sales
12. Provide training and support in inventory best practices
13. Organize workshops to enhance cross-functional understanding and collaboration
14. Support strategic procurement by aligning stock levels with operational needs
Performance Monitoring and Compliance
15. Define and analyze KPIs to assess inventory effectiveness
16. Ensure compliance with CAME, MOE, and Part-145/CAMO regulations
17. Report regularly on inventory value, performance, and improvement opportunities
18. Continuously improve inventory processes in our internal software (ProX) to boost efficiency and productivity
Your profile
19. University degree (Bachelor’s) in Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
20. Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory planning within a medium or large company, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry
21. Proven experience in calculation models, statistics and supply chain principles, including purchasing, logistics and the application of stock steering parameters to optimize inventory levels and performance
22. Strong analytical and solution-oriented mindset with proficiency in handling large datasets confidently and reliably
23. Ability to assertively present information and communicate as well as collaborate in a fast-paced environment
24. Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards related to inventory management and familiarity with the aircraft component market, particularly the used material market
25. Independent, proactive, and forward-thinking in challenging situations
26. Proficiency in inventory management software with advanced skills in database applications, analytical tools and MS Office
27. Proficient in English (verbal and written); Dutch and / or French is a plus
