As an Analytics Engineer you will sit at the intersection of data engineering, analytics and business insight. Your primary mission is to turn raw data into well-structured, reliable and accessible data products that empower business users and decisionmakers. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional data pipelines, models and visualizations; focusing on analytics deliverables rather than platform administration.
YOUR JOB
* Understand business needs and translate them into a technical solution: gather requirements from business stakeholders, understand their KPIs and information needs and design data products to meet these needs.
* Data modelling: design and maintain analytical data models (e.g. dimensional models, data marts) to reflect business logic and support reporting/analysis.
* Data transformation & pipelines: build, maintain and optimize data pipelines/ETL or ELT flows (SQL, Python, cloud-based data warehouse to extract, clean, transform and load data.
* Data visualization & reporting: build dashboards/reports in BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or equivalent) so that business users can explore and understand metrics and trends.
* Collaboration with stakeholders: work with business and IT teams, to ensure data solutions meet real needs; act as bridge between technical and non-technical teams.
* Data governance & quality: ensure data models and pipelines adhere to governance, documentation, and quality standards; implement data validation, testing, lineage and documentation of data flows.
* Focus on data products: deliver usable, stable and well-documented data products (models, tables, dashboards) that business users can rely on; not just building infrastructure.
YOUR SKILLS
* Strong proficiency in SQL and experience writing pipelines with SQL.
* Experience with data modeling: understanding of dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas or equivalent
* Working knowledge of Python is a plus
* Experience with BI / data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau to create dashboards or reports that serve business needs
* Familiarity with cloud data platforms, data warehouses and data lakehouses
* Good business & data understanding: ability to work with stakeholders, translate business needs into data requirements, understand domain logic and deliver useful data products
* Strong communication skills: able to explain technical data concepts to non-technical stakeholders; document data models, transformations, lineage and business logic clearly
* Fluent in Dutch/French and English
