We are looking for a Junior Consultant to join the Audiovisual Library and Services team at the European Commission.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the management, documentation, and distribution of audiovisual content related to EU activities and political events.
You will assist in organizing and archiving audiovisual materials, helping to make this content accessible to media professionals, researchers, and the general public.
If you're passionate about media, history, and public communication — and eager to develop your skills in an international environment — we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the acquisition and archiving of audiovisual content, including news coverage and historical footage.
* Help manage and publish content (videos, photos, audio) using the Media Asset Management (MAM) system.
* Support documentation and indexing by tagging key events, people, and topics, and updating the audiovisual thesaurus.
* Ensure content availability on the European Commission's AV Portal, supporting distribution to journalists and media partners.
* Maintain records and data in internal systems such as Beluga and conduct searches using tools like Sysper.
* Contribute to special projects, such as helping with EU events and public-facing initiatives like quizzes and presentations for Open Days.
* Stay updated on tools and techniques used in digital archiving and media documentation.
What We’re Looking For:
* A degree in Information Science, Media, Communication, Archiving, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Interest or initial experience in media archiving, content management, or library services.
* Good organizational and documentation skills with strong attention to detail.
* Familiarity with digital tools and databases; knowledge of MAM systems is a plus.
* Team player with strong communication skills.
* Fluent in English; additional EU languages (especially French) are a plus.
What We Offer:
* A hands-on learning experience in a multicultural European institution.
* Training and support to grow your skills in data management, audiovisual content, and digital archiving.
* A meaningful role in supporting European communication and transparency.
