IT-Planet is an HR specialist focusing on flexible and temporary staffing solutions in IT. We support IT projects for a range of top‑100 clients across Flanders and Brussels, covering Application Development, Infrastructure Services & Software Testing.
We are looking for a Progress Developer (m/f/x) to join our client team in Antwerp. The role may be filled on a permanent contract or a freelance assignment for a long‑term engagement.
Responsibilities
* Part of an application team responsible for managing and further developing a back‑office solution for quotes and policies.
* Focus on full‑stack development.
* Translate functional requirements into efficient, well‑thought‑out technical solutions.
* Collaboration with System Expert, Solution Architect and fellow developers for analysis, design and development.
* Comfortable with challenging technical questions in an Agile context with Test‑Driven Development and focus on quality and deadlines.
* Active participation in improving teamwork and workflow, providing optimization proposals.
* Help eliminate technical debt.
* Contribute to initiatives such as transparency regulations, development of a new employee‑benefits platform, process optimization, integrations with output‑management systems and reporting solutions.
* Experience with at least one of the technologies and tools: Visual Studio, C++, HTML, SQL, Git, Azure DevOps, TFS, Proshield/Fly2Pro, SharePoint, Confluence or similar.
* Several years of full‑stack experience in a Progress OpenEdge context.
* Familiarity with Progress OpenEdge, Progress Developer Studio, Progress Application Server (PASOE) and object‑oriented programming.
* Knowledge or experience setting up and maintaining REST and SOAP services.
* Comfortable in an Agile environment or motivated to deepen knowledge.
* Stays up‑to‑date with software development trends and shows broad interest in prevailing technologies.
* Experience or interest in the insurance or financial services sector is a plus but not required.
* Fluent in Dutch and good knowledge of English.
Qualifications
* Background in software development, specifically with Progress OpenEdge.
* Proven experience in full‑stack development.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and collaborative mindset.
* Ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
* Proven experience with REST and SOAP services.
* English communication skill, plus Dutch.
