Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Area Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the Benelux region.
Main Responsibilities:
* Maintain and nurture relationships with regional customers, continually assessing their needs for new equipment, software, and educational resources to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
* Identify, contact, and develop new customer prospects to expand the customer base and drive growth.
* Lead the machine sales process from initial need identification to final order, effectively utilizing internal resources such as Sales Support and Project Management to ensure a smooth and successful sales journey.
* Lead, motivate and manage a team of ASMs.
* Monitor team performance and provide regular coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
* Conduct regular field visits to support and guide the sales team.
* Prepare and execute machine demonstrations in collaboration with reference customers and the demo team.
* Provide a fact base for and support the creation of the local area sales budget.
* Deliver high activity levels, including customer visits, prospect contacts, and customer demos, ensuring all accounts in the region are regularly visited and contacted to never miss a business opportunity.
* Proactively share developments and changes in the market, competitor activities, and customer preferences, such as product features and educational materials.
* Prepare consolidated reporting on the team's commercial activity for local management, highlighting performance, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with direct sales in the metal sheet or capital machinery industries, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* A strong background in electro-mechanical engineering.
* A proven track record in achieving/exceeding sales targets and market development in the capital machinery sector.
* Proficient in task and project management, with basic PC skills (CRM software, Excel, PowerPoint, BI Tools).

* You should be fluent in Dutch and French, and have a good level of English.

* You should have strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused mindset.
* You should be willing to travel a minimum of 80% of the time within the specific region, with occasional travel outside the region.
