Purpose of the Role

The Contract Law Associate acts as a key legal business partner supporting DIGI Belgium's mobile and fiber network deployment activities.


The role focuses on providing practical and business-oriented legal support across a broad range of business, real estate, infrastructure and corporate matters contracts. You will play a central role in negotiating and managing agreements related to network rollout, site acquisition, suppliers and subcontractors relationships, and similar matters, while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.


Working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors when required, the Contract Law Specialist will proactively identify legal risks, provide pragmatic solutions and contribute to the successful execution of DIGI Belgium's strategic infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial and operational agreements supporting DIGI Belgium's activities.
  • Provide legal support for telecommunications infrastructure projects, including mobile and fiber network deployment initiatives.
  • Provide legal advice on general corporate and commercial matters affecting the company's operations. Manage and support site acquisition activities, including the negotiation of commercial leases, easements, access rights, rights of way and other property-related agreements.
  • Advise on real estate and property law matters linked to telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Support the management of permits, planning authorizations and administrative procedures required for infrastructure deployment.
  • Provide legal assistance in relation to facility management activities and infrastructure operations.
  • Support procurement teams through the negotiation and management of supplier, vendor and subcontractor agreements.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual, operational and legal risks across the business.
  • Manage disputes, claims and litigation matters in cooperation with external counsel when required.
  • Oversee payment recovery matters and support debt collection procedures where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, internal procedures and legal guidelines to improve operational efficiency.
  • Deliver practical and solution-oriented legal advice aligned with business objectives.


Must-Have Qualifications & Experience

  • Belgian Master's Degree in Law.
  • Qualified to practice law in Belgium.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant legal experience gained within a reputable law firm and/or an in-house legal department.
  • Strong experience in contract law and negotiations.
  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex B2B agreements.


Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Telecommunications law;
  • Real estate and property law;
  • Infrastructure projects;
  • Litigation and dispute management;
  • Corporate law.
  • Knowledge of commercial leases, easements, rights of way and site acquisition processes is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with permits, planning authorizations and infrastructure-related administrative procedures is considered an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and either Dutch or French.
