The Global Employee Relations Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the strategic framework, policies, procedures, and programs that promote a positive and inclusive employee experience and ensure compliance with labor laws across countries where Arcadis operates. This role can be based in Europe or the UK&I.
The role reports primarily to the Chief People Officer and secondarily to the Global People Operations Director. There are no direct reports. The role will collaborate with country and global People teams and employee relations professionals to manage cases and improve efficiency, guided by our global ER framework.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Creating a global framework to manage employee relations and standardize ways of working.
2. Managing inflow of Employee Relations (ER) cases through triage and investigation.
3. Developing efficient processes for handling ER issues globally and tracking cases for timely resolution and reporting.
4. Engaging with organizational SMEs and external counsel as needed.
5. Providing ER support to local teams and managers, ensuring legal compliance and fairness in investigations.
6. Conducting training programs on ER best practices, conflict resolution, and compliance.
7. Acting as a steward of health and safety, promoting wellbeing, and representing Arcadis externally when appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience:
* An academic degree in human resources or related field, with progressive HR experience in complex international settings.
* Proven track record in managing global ER issues, investigations, and collaboration with external counsel.
* Strong understanding of labor laws across multiple regions including UK, Europe, Asia, North and Latin America.
* Experience with DIB issues and fostering inclusive workplaces.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-cultural skills.
* Discretion in handling confidential information and conflict resolution expertise.
