We're working with a fast-growing scale-up in the gaming industry, who are expanding their data team and is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help scale their application.
You will design and maintain data pipelines and internal tools that power analytics, marketing insights, customer support, and decision-making across a large-scale digital platform. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and commercial teams to ensure data is genuinely useful.
Responsibilities
Designing and maintaining SQL-based data models, transformations, and queries for both analytical and operational use cases
Building internal dashboards and data-driven applications using React and related technologies
Working with engineering teams to embed data into internal and user-facing systems
Supporting the rollout and adoption of BI tools as the data stack evolves
Partnering with marketing and customer-facing teams to turn business questions into clear metrics, dashboards, and insights
Developing a strong understanding of the company's operations within the gaming space in order to anticipate data needs and define meaningful KPIs
Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance reporting around acquisition, engagement, retention, segmentation, and overall user experience
Your profile
Advanced SQL skills
Strong understanding of relational databases, schema design, and change data capture (CDC) patterns
Hands-on experience with at least one modern backend or Full-Stack language, plus practical experience building tools with React (e.g. Recharts or D3)
Comfort working with large, high-volume datasets in a production environment
Familiarity with data warehousing principles and pipeline orchestration
Experience using BI and reporting tools
Solid understanding of marketing analytics, CRM processes, funnel analysis, and user segmentation
Background in gaming, betting, or online entertainment environments
A proactive mindset when it comes to defining metrics, dashboards, and data-driven improvements
