Job Description ‘Compliance Officer’

Organisation chart

Reports hierarchically to the Head of Compliance of LS BENE cluster.

Objective of the job

1. Providing reasonable assurance to the Head of Compliance of LS BENE cluster that up-to-date policies and procedures, and adequate compliance set-ups are in place, consistent with Group Compliance requirements (for the domains Financial Security, Protection of Client’s Interest, Professional Ethics and Anti Bribery & Corruption) and in line with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Contributing to the organization of the Compliance function within LS BENE.
3. Maintaining a consolidated view of LS BENE Compliance risks.
4. Assisting in ensuring the compliance of LS BENE’s activities, employees and other persons performing its activities, with the regulatory provisions and Group standard on money laundering and terrorist financing, Protection of client's interest and Professional Ethics.
5. Contribute to develop a strong Compliance culture within LS BENE, in line with the following principles:Independence, integration and deconcentrationSpecialization of expertise Accountability: Compliance is everyone's dutyDialogue: Compliance as a Business partnerEscalation right and alert duty
6. Being a point of contact and work in close cooperation with internal stakeholder (across BNPP Group) and external & regulatory contacts to ensure consistency of decisions and operating model.

Scope: Leasing Solutions Belgium and Leasing Solutions The Netherlands (BENE cluster).

Deliverables

Key responsibilities of the Compliance department:

7. ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards,
8. perform appropriate second Line of Defence (LoD2) compliance monitoring activities & oversight,
9. remain compliant with the various Group and corporate policies,
10. investigate, report and monitor regulatory breaches.

Key activities of the Compliance officer:

11. ensure that first Line of Defence (LoD1) complies with Compliance requirements in all domains,
12. provide support and advice on compliance matters to the Business,
13. perform LOD 2 controls,
14. provide compliance trainings across LS BENE,
15. update existing Compliance Policy and Procedure documents on a periodical basis, and compile new documents as required,
16. prepare regular and ad hoc reports and support as required by the Head of Compliance for local, territory and group level reporting,
17. any other ad-hoc duties as required by LS BENE’s Head of Compliance.

Required knowledge and experience

Education and Experience:

You have a 2-5 years experience within a similar role, you have a passion for Compliance and are well organized and able to prioritize workload.

You have at least a master level in Finance/Economics and you are fluent in English, with good knowledge of Dutch and French.

Required technical skills:

18. General knowledge of applicable regulatory framework within LS BENE and within BNPP Group
19. Knowledge of Compliance issues and challenges specific to a leasing environment
20. Knowledge of leasing processes, products & clients
