About the Role
We are seeking a Support/Infra Engineer (Freelance) for a 3-month on-site project in Dessel, Belgium. In this role, you'll be the vital bridge between the service desk and technical teams, ensuring the continuity, security, and optimization of our client's IT environment. Your expertise will directly impact the stability and evolution of mission-critical infrastructure, empowering teams to deliver at their best.

What You'll Be Doing
* Delivering second-line support for complex IT incidents beyond the scope of first-line teams
* Monitoring and maintaining networks, servers, and platforms to guarantee a stable, secure IT environment
* Proactively identifying, analyzing, and resolving technical issues using root cause analysis
* Collaborating with technical teams to implement improvements and optimize IT operations
* Automating repetitive tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools
* Ensuring cybersecurity best practices, including patch management and endpoint security
* Documenting processes, incidents, and solutions in a structured ticketing system
* Communicating clearly and empathetically with internal users, translating technical solutions into user-friendly language
* Responding to monitoring alerts and taking proactive measures to minimize downtime
* Participating in team-driven proposals to enhance the IT landscape with innovative solutions

Technical Skills
* Solid knowledge of networks (WAN, LAN, VPN, 802.1X, firewall)
* Experience with Windows, Linux, Active Directory, M365, virtualization, and storage
* Hands-on with workstations, servers, peripherals, and software installations/upgrades
* Understanding of cybersecurity best practices (patch management, endpoint security, security awareness)
* Proficiency in PowerShell for task automation
* Familiarity with system and network monitoring tools (including cloud-based solutions)
* Ability to analyze logs (Windows Event Viewer, Syslog, etc.) and proactively identify issues
* Experience with ticketing systems and IT process documentation
Language Proficiency
* Dutch: Native or bilingual proficiency (required)
* English: Nice to have
* French: Nice to have
Other Requirements
* Relevant experience as a Junior IT Infrastructure or Cloud Engineer
* Intermediate experience in Cyber Security, Firewall, and Networks (1–3 years)
* Ability to work on-site in Dessel, Belgium (no remote option)
* Security clearance: Please indicate if you already have one or foresee any issues obtaining it
* Willingness to provide your distance to Dessel (in km, via Google Maps)
