About Air Products
At Air Products, we supply industrial gases that are essential to a wide range of industries - from healthcare and food preservation to manufacturing and clean energy. At the same time, we are investing heavily in clean hydrogen and CO₂ conversion to support a more sustainable, carbon-free future.
Our products are part of everyday life, often without you even noticing, helping reduce food waste, supporting hospitals, and enabling critical industrial processes worldwide.
For our new plant in Meise (IJsfabriek Strombeek), we are looking for an Asset Manager who will take ownership of our packaged gases cylinder pool and help bring it to the next Air Products standard.
About the Role
As Asset Manager Packaged Gases, you are responsible for the availability, performance and optimal utilization of our cylinder assets. Your main focus will be the asset pool in Meise, making this a business-critical role with real operational impact.
You ensure that production plants always have the right cylinders, in the right condition, at the right time to meet customer demand. You do this through data analysis, forecasting, coordination and decision-making, working closely with production, logistics, sales, technical teams and external partners.
This is a role with high ownership and autonomy, where you combine analytical thinking with practical execution.
Your responsibilities
* End-to-end management of the cylinder asset pool, including availability, shortages and surplus
* Developing forecasts and analyses based on customer demand, trends and product developments
* Coordinating logistical flows between production plants and locations
* Managing and overseeing the inspection and re-inspection regime, in close collaboration with retest centers
* Supporting new customer setups and product introductions by advising on asset requirements and procurement volumes
* Budget responsibility for asset-related costs such as re-inspection, refurbishment and new cylinder purchases
* Analysing SAP data and reports to generate timely insights and actionable recommendations
* Working independently while maintaining close collaboration with other Asset Managers, Northern Continent colleagues and local stakeholders
What you will bring
* A strong analytical mindset with a genuine interest in data, processes and optimization
* Interest in technical assets such as cylinders, valves, pressure classes and product specifications
* The ability to translate data and analysis into clear decisions and actions
* Experience with, or strong interest in, SAP (transactions and reporting)
* Advanced Excel skills
* A proactive, structured and ownership-driven way of working
* Strong communication skills across different stakeholder groups
* Fluent Dutch is required; French is a strong advantage
Why choose this role
* End-to-end ownership of a large-scale, business-critical asset pool
* A unique mix of analysis, technology, logistics and business decision-making
* High level of autonomy within a collaborative, international environment
