TBEU Legal department Overview:

The TBEU Legal team currently consists of two Senior Specialists, a Coordinator and a Manager reporting to the TBEU Legal VP. We conduct a wide range of legal and compliance activities for our HQ, administrative branches and support subsidiaries (manufacturing plants) in different jurisdictions.

We are looking for a skilled
Legal Senior Specialist to join our Brussels office
who will act as in-house Lawyer. This role will deliver high-quality legal advice on the whole spectrum of legal matters that apply to our business, draft and review various legal documents, provide daily counsel to management, collaborate with external legal partners, and lead key projects within the department.

Main responsibilities:

* Contract Management
: Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on complex commercial contracts and agreements with suppliers, customers, and business partners. Oversee contract-related legal issues.
* Legal Counsel
: Provide guidance on different topics, including OEM customer and supplier terms, intellectual property, contract enforcement, disputes, terminations, and distressed supplier issues.
* Litigation Oversight
: Oversee group lawsuits with the support of outside lawyers, ensuring effective resolution and risk mitigation.
* Compliance and Governance
: Support corporate governance, in-house compliance activities, and stakeholder reporting. Develop and implement policies and procedures on automotive industry legal issues and regulatory affairs.
* Risk Mitigation
: Proactively identify and address potential legal and compliance risks, advise on legal risks related to business opportunities. Lead / support in-house compliance programs.
* Research and Analysis
: Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry developments. Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
* Training and Communication
: Provide training to business teams and leadership on different legal topics, including contract terms, antitrust, antibribery, data protection, intellectual property etc. Promote ethical standards and company's Code of conduct.
* Continuous Process Improvement
: Identify and implement enhancements to functional processes to detect and prevent fraudulent, ineffective, or inefficient business practices related to legal and compliance risks.
* Innovation and Standardization
: Champion legal innovation, including AI-driven tools and digital platforms, to streamline processes and enhance collaboration.
* Regional Collaboration
: Partner with internal teams (Sales, Purchasing, R&D, HR, Finance, IT etc.) and regional/local referents in subsidiaries and external legal counsel to ensure cohesive legal support across jurisdictions.

Requirements:

* Education
: Minimum Bachelor's degree in law at a Belgian university, ideally complemented by a LL.M. degree
* Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, ideally with a mid-to-large law firm, or a combination of law firm and in-house roles. Prior in-house experience in the automotive industry is desirable.
* Skills:

* Expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.

* Strong knowledge of risk management and compliance frameworks in a global manufacturing context.
* Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate legal outcomes into business-friendly language.
* High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.

* Languages:
Fluency in English (oral and written). Other languages are an asset.

* Mindset:
Hands-on, self-starter with strong work ethics and courage to take unpopular stands when necessary to protect the company and preserve its integrity.
* Adaptability:
Thrives in a dynamic, international environment.

* Travel:
Willingness to travel for business needs (approximately 10-15% of the time, frequency to be agreed upon).

* Technical Proficiency:
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with legal tech tools is a plus.
