The Accounting & Control team is looking for an Accountant & Control expert to support the accounting team in the daily activities.
This team manages the financial accounting processes for lending and deposit products, commercial payment solutions, loan loss provisioning, the broker channel, and related commissions.
The team is based in Brussels and consists of 12 Finance professionals, supported by a Finance Hub in The Philippines.
We operate in a hybrid work model: 50% from home and 50% in the office.
Role :
As a Finance Accounting & Control Expert, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and robustness of our financial accounting processes. You will support monthly closing activities, contribute to analytical reviews, and help strengthen the internal control framework.
Responsibilities :
• Execute and oversee the monthly closing process, ensuring all bookings are accurately recorded in the ledger.
• Prepare monthly sign-offs, analyse trends, and perform in-depth technical and financial reviews.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and provide insights in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Internal Audit, External Audit, ORM, Regulators, ING Group Finance).
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities in data quality, processes, and tools, and support the implementation of these enhancements.
• Maintain, reinforce, and continuously improve the internal Finance control framework.

What you bring :
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and strong general accounting skills (banking experience is an asset).
• Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

• Fluency in English, and good knowledge of Dutch or French.
