Description de l'offre

WHO ARE WE?

Doctors of the World is an international medical NGO and part of an international network. We provide medical assistance to vulnerable groups in Belgium and around the world.

We aim for universal health coverage, where everyone has access to care, without barriers (financial, cultural, geographical, etc.).

To carry out our mission, we rely on three pillars:

- Care: ensuring real access to care for the population.

- Change: we don't just want to help; we want to make a lasting difference.

- Testify: we do not stay silent. Thanks to our experience and presence in the field, we challenge (local, regional, and (inter)national) authorities with facts, figures, and realities.

Our projects are guided by values that apply across our entire organization: social justice, empowerment, independence, commitment, balance.

THE ESSENTIAL

The COZO (Reception, Care and Orientation Centre) in Antwerp provides temporary psychosocial and medical consultations for people who have no effective access to care in the greater Antwerp area. In addition, we work to ensure access to healthcare through various possible procedures. We raise awareness about social issues and use our voice to advocate for structural changes.

You will join a warm team of permanent staff and volunteers.

As the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Focal Point, you ensure the quality of mental health care (MHPSS) within the project and provide guidance and support to health workers and/or volunteers (medical – social – psychological). You will work to strengthen the mental health care network in the Antwerp region.

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Project Leader and the technical responsibility of the Mental Health Referent, the role also includes management of a small team of volunteers.

MAIN TASKS

As Person Responsible for the MHPSS Activities:

You coordinate and organize the MHPSS activities of the project, in line with the mission and values of the organization, to ensure the quality and continuity of care.

Examples of tasks:

- Act as the MHPSS focal point for the project and participate in health-related meetings.

- Monitor the quality of the MHPSS component.

- Actively participate in monitoring and evaluation of activities, ensure quality data collection, and communicate all relevant data to support advocacy.

- Actively strengthen the network with the goal of obtaining access to mental health care for our target population.

- Work closely with the MFP/HPF (medical/health focal point) and social services to establish a multidisciplinary treatment plan for patients.

As Supervisor:

You support and guide the multidisciplinary team in accordance with the operational framework, existing processes, and protocols to ensure an optimal working environment aligned with the resources and priorities of the regional program.

Examples of tasks:

- Organize briefing and debriefing sessions for new team members on mental health roles.

- Support the team of volunteer psychologists and psychosocial volunteers.

- Provide technical MHPSS support to the health promoter.

- Provide technical MHPSS support to the social team.

As Mental Health Member of the Regional Program Team:

You are responsible for implementing the mental health objectives and themes of the regional strategy within your project and ensure good collaboration to strengthen cross-project integration.

Examples of tasks:

- Participate in reflection on the MHPSS strategy.

The above list of tasks is not exhaustive and will be adapted according to needs.

These responsibilities will be carried out in a specific and cross-cutting way based on the annual individual action plan, drawn up jointly by the supervisor and the employee.
