A leading Belgian company active in the financial services sector is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its growing team in Belgium. The company is building a large-scale national infrastructure project with the ambition to become the largest player on the Belgian market in the coming years. To support its expansion, it is seeking a strategic and business-oriented legal expert who will act as a true legal risk gatekeeper and trusted advisor to senior management.

Missions and Responsibilities
* Provide expert, business-oriented legal advice across all operations, ensuring compliance with Belgian and EU regulations
* Draft, review and negotiate complex contracts with partners, suppliers and stakeholders
* Act as legal risk gatekeeper, advising and challenging management on strategic initiatives
* Oversee corporate governance matters, including Board, Shareholders and annual accounts topics
* Manage disputes and litigation, coordinating external counsel and monitoring regulatory developments
The Ideal Profile
* Master’s degree in Law; specialisation in corporate, commercial or financial law is a plus
* 5–10 years of relevant experience (law firm and/or in-house), ideally within financial services or regulated industries
* Strong knowledge of Belgian law and solid understanding of EU regulations
* Fluent in Dutch and English with strong command of French
* Strategic mindset, strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex legal matters into actionable guidance for senior stakeholders
