About the Role
Platform Science is looking for a Financial Controller / FP&A Analyst who doesn't just process data but truly understands the "why" behind the numbers. Reporting to the Finance leadership, you will be the bridge between operational activity and financial results. This is a hands‑on role for a self‑starter who enjoys connecting dots across the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. You will play a key part in developing profitability analyses across our European entities and helping non‑financial managers understand their performance through high‑impact data visualization.
Details: Full‑time (40 hours/week). Primary Work Location: Leuven or Ieper, Belgium (Hybrid).
Reporting & Analysis: Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles. Conduct deep‑diver variance analysis (Actuals vs. Budget) to identify cost and revenue drivers.
Forecasting & Budgeting: Support the annual budget process and rolling forecasts using internal KPIs such as FTEs, Salesforce data, and backlog.
Profitability & Cash Flow: Further develop profitability analysis across all European entities and help refine cash flow forecasting models.
Cost Control: Monitor business spending to ensure strict alignment with company policy.
Data Visualization: Create and maintain dashboards (Domo) to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders.
Process Excellence: Identify bottlenecks in financial workflows and suggest/implement automation solutions.
Experience & Competencies
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in finance/controlling. You know the mechanics of a business but is eager to get your "hands dirty" and be mentored.
Excel Mastery: You are an Excel expert, capable of building scalable, flexible models for rapid data analysis.
Analytical Mindset: You instinctively look for anomalies and seek the business logic behind operational flows.
Accounting Knowledge: You understand the impact of accounting rules and can implement them effectively.
Soft Skills: A proactive self‑starter with open, transparent communication skills. You ask the right questions and can explain financial insights clearly.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
