Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the project QA/QC plan, procedures, and inspection/test plans (ITPs) in line with refinery standards and client requirements.
Lead and manage the QA/QC team, including engineers, inspectors, and document controllers.
Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ISO, ASME, API, ASTM) and client-specific QA/QC requirements.
Review and approve material certificates, test reports, welding procedures, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
Conduct and oversee site inspections, audits, and monitoring to ensure quality standards are met during construction and commissioning.
Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformances, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAR/PAR).
Coordinate vendor audits, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and pre-shipment inspections for critical materials and equipment.
Monitor QA/QC performance metrics and provide regular reports to management and clients.
Ensure handover documentation and quality records are complete, accurate, and compliant for final project delivery.
Provide guidance and training to the project team on quality processes, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support HSE and safety audits by ensuring that quality procedures also comply with safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Process Engineering or related field.
Minimum 10–15 years’ experience in QA/QC roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity, preferably in refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of refinery QA/QC codes, standards, and inspection methodologies.
Proficiency in QA/QC documentation, inspection software, ERP systems, and MS Office.
Experience in welding inspection, NDT, P&ID verification, and commissioning quality control is highly desirable.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and coordination skills for multi-disciplinary teams.
Attention to detail with focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
Knowledge of HSE practices and ability to integrate quality management with safety requirements.
