Description de l'offre

E2 Drives is an innovative engineering company revolutionizing electric mobility. Our expertise spans mechanics, electronics, electric motor design, and embedded control systems. We have developed a disruptive and patented powertrain technology for electric bikes that combines an automatic gearbox within a powerful all-in-one solution, offering cyclists unprecedented comfort, robustness, and performance. With our recent partnership with Decathlon, we aim to become a global leader in eBike motor technology within the next decade.

We launched our first-generation motors and are currently developing our second-generation drive units. We are therefore expanding our team to ensure the continuous evolution of our products. Our team is based in Wavre, near Brussels, and consists of 35 passionate and driven professionals.

To support our growth, we are seeking a Drivetrain Engineer with expertise in transmissions development.

What will be your role?

We’re seeking a Drivetrain Engineer with proven expertise in gear, bearing, and drivetrain design to help shape our next-generation E-bike motor and gearbox systems. You’ll lead the design, analysis, and validation of compact, high-efficiency, and long-lasting powertrains that redefine the cycling experience.

What will be your main responsibilities?

* System Design & Development: Lead the end-to-end design of metal and plastic gears within our drive units and define grease/lubrication strategies for long-term durability.
* Digital Validation & Optimization: Drive system-level simulation to evaluate mechanical performance. You will be responsible for NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) analysis and optimization to ensure our motors deliver a silent, premium riding experience.
* Testing & Root Cause Analysis: Bridge the gap between digital models and real-world performance by analyzing test data and actively troubleshooting failed gears or components to drive continuous design iterations.
* Innovation & Mentorship: Stay abreast of the latest trends in electric mobility and transmission technology, integrating new methodologies into our projects while actively coaching and mentoring younger engineers across the organization.
* Knowledge sharing: Share your engineering decisions in cross-functional discussions. Leverage your expertise to confidently argue technical choices, convince stakeholders, and build consensus using clear, concise, and factual data-driven points.

What is your profile?

* Education: A Master’s degree in Engineering or a specialized mechanical design discipline.
* Drivetrain Expertise: Proven experience with transmission systems, including bearings, shafts, mechanical load distribution, metal and plastic gear calculations.
* Software & Tools: Expertise in gear calculation software (KissSoft, FVA Workbench, SMT Masta and/or equivalent) alongside strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, etc.) for 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
* Technical Precision: Expertise in GD&T standards and a keen eye for detail in creating accurate, clear manufacturing drawings.
* Languages: Fluent in English, with working proficiency in French being an advantage.

Who are we looking for?

Success in this role requires more than technical ability. We’re looking for someone who is naturally meticulous, with a deep understanding of how even the smallest details influence system reliability and performance. You set a high bar—for yourself and your work—pursuing excellence in every decision, drawing pride from delivering elegant and robust mechanical designs.

You approach challenges with a clear, analytical mindset, using structured thinking, data, and modeling to solve complex engineering problems with confidence and clarity. You thrive in a collaborative environment, enjoying the opportunity to share your knowledge and elevate the engineering standards of the entire team.

What do we offer?

* A role within an ambitious, high-potential start-up that delivered its first success and is now looking at a broader expansion.
* A chance to shape the future of electric mobility and contribute to a company with global ambitions.
* A dynamic, human-sized team with a focus on excellence.
* An attractive compensation package and a permanent full-time contract.
* A great workplace environment, surrounded by nature and bikes.
