The Business Unit Tax & Accounting Software develops and sells products for tax and accounting professionals and businesses. As a Software Diagnostics & Support Engineer, you ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of our applications and services. You investigate incidents, perform in‑depth analyses of API traffic and data, and work closely with development and operations teams to propose structural solutions and improvements.
You stay close to the code, with a clear focus on diagnosis, analysis, and problem solving. At the same time, you build long‑term relationships with external stakeholders (often involved in incidents), which are crucial for the reliability of our services.
Your responsibilities
1. Analyzing and reproducing bugs and incidents within our existing applications, APIs, and data flows.
2. Troubleshooting based on logs, monitoring dashboards, and SQL data.
3. Performing technical analyses of API calls (JSON/HTTP), e.g. using Postman.
4. Monitoring software performance and service reliability.
5. Actively identifying root causes and proposing improvements to the development team.
6. Contributing to bug fixing in existing codebases (not full‑time development, but technically hands‑on).
7. Acting as the technical point of contact for our partners and external stakeholders.
8. Structuring and clearly documenting complex technical issues.

Must-haves
9. Bachelor’s degree in IT, or equivalent through experience.
10. Affinity with programming languages.
11. Experience with logging/monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk, Sentry).
12. Proficient in Excel.
13. Experience with PowerShell and SQL.
14. Solid understanding of API flows based on JSON and HTTP (Postman).
15. Fluent in English; basic knowledge of Dutch and French.
16. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
17. Ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear and structured way.
18. Team player who enjoys collaboration but can also investigate problems independently.
19. On-site presence: 2 days per week in Leuven.
