The Distribution Optimization Manager plays a key role in designing, building, and evolving Integra's global distribution capabilities. This hands-on role leads tactical and strategic initiatives at the assigned DC, focused on capacity readiness, technology enablement, process design, and operational cost optimization.
This individual drives projects and pilots new processes and technologies, prepares successful rollouts, and ensures our network continues to meet growing customer and business needs. The role collaborates deeply with 3PLs, IT, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn distribution strategy into operational outcomes.
For the assigned distribution center, this role is accountable for driving measurable improvements in cost per unit, service performance, and customer experience. This includes defining and managing clear commercial SLAs with 3PL partners and ensuring operational performance consistently meets or exceeds agreed targets.
The Optimization Manager does not own governance or global standards but instead brings new ideas to life through execution and innovation using process improvement tools.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Budget & Capacity Forecasting: Translate long-range forecasts into warehousing needs, capacity plans, and operational budgets. Build cost-to-serve models that drive strategic investment decisions.
Network Design Input: Support layout design, throughput modelling, and physical network planning in collaboration with 3PLs and internal stakeholders including transport teams
Process & SOP Development: Design scalable and repeatable processes that are tailored for execution at site level. Collaborate with CoE for standardization but own creation for new initiatives.
Technology Rollout: Partner with IT and 3PLs to pilot, implement, and scale technology initiatives such as WMS upgrades, automation, TMS, and robotics.
Project Leadership: Own the planning and execution of strategic initiatives like DC expansion, automation projects, and warehouse process optimization.
3PL Support & Vendor Collaboration: Support 3PL contract negotiations and renewals by defining business requirements, KPIs, and operational models.
Sustainability Initiatives: Lead ESG-focused projects within distribution operations, such as packaging optimization, energy efficiency, and environmental footprint reduction – looking for sweet spots in cost and environmental impact.
Experience Improvement: Drive initiatives that improve the experience for warehouse associates, customers, and logistics partners.
Value Stream Mapping: Lead VSM efforts across DCs to identify cross-functional inefficiencies and enable end-to-end order fulfillment improvements.
Cost-to-Serve & Commercial Insight
Develop and maintain cost-to-serve analyses for the assigned DC(s), identifying improvement opportunities such as minimum order sizes, order consolidation, service level configurations, and fulfillment strategies. Partner with commercial, customer service, and transportation teams to translate data-driven insights into aligned actions that improve cost per unit and customer experience.
