The opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems for power conversion solutions. You will be involved in engineering projects from concept through implementation, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust, efficient, and manufacturable designs aligned with Hitachi Energy’s standards and sustainability goals.
How you’ll make an impact
* Design & Model: Develop 3D designs and detailed models of components and products using professional CAD tools.
* Analyze & Validate: Perform strength, tolerance, and simulation analyses to ensure structural integrity and functional performance.
* Ensure Compliance: Provide mechanical justification in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
* Prepare Documentation: Create mechanical drawings, exploded views, validation reports, and technical documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
* Optimize Products: Contribute to value engineering activities to improve cost, performance, and manufacturability.
* Collaborate Across Teams: Align simulation activities with manufacturing criteria and work closely with electrical, manufacturing, and project teams.
* Develop Prototypes: Support prototype implementation and participate in testing and validation activities.
* Support Product Lifecycle: Prepare instructions, manuals, and associated documentation for product deployment and use.
Your background
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent field.
* At least 2 years of experience in 3D mechanical design and engineering projects from concept to implementation.
* High proficiency in 3D and 2D design tools; knowledge of finite element analysis and simulation software (e.g. Ansys, Comsol, or similar) is valued
* Experience in structural calculations, value engineering, manufacturing, and assembly processes is a plus.
* Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, with a high level of English (minimum C1 is required).
* Experience in similar roles, preferably within the renewable energy or power conversion systems industry, is valued.
