At Volve, part of the Pauwels Solution Group, we’re looking for a Medior/Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our team and help build a modular Azure data platform that makes AI/ML use cases truly accessible for mid-market companies.

What will you do?
* Azure Networking: Solid understanding of Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), VNet Peering, and Private/ Public Endpoints.
* DataOps/MLOps: Streamline workflows and CI/CD pipelines with Git-based DevOps, making data, cloud infrastructure projects faster, safer, and more repeatable.
* Security by design: Protect systems from day one with IAM/RBAC, least-privilege access, network isolation, and policy-as-code. Security that’s smart, not annoying 😉
* Observability: Keep a clear eye on your systems with Azure Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting so you spot issues before they become real problems.
* Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/Terraform): Build and manage cloud environments with DevOps, ensuring everything runs smoothly, consistently, and without the usual headaches.
* Databricks engineering: Craft ETL pipelines following the medallion architecture, powering everything from consumer-focused dashboards in Power BI to advanced ML and AI models (including LLMs).
* Pipeline creation/ maintenance: Design, implement, schedule, and maintain robust data pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Who are we looking for?
Must-haves
* Azure & Databricks: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with different Azure Data Services (Azure CLI, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, …) or equivalent and Databricks (Pipelines (ingest, transform, orchestrate), Notebooks, mounting Storage, Unity Catalogs, …)
* IAC mindset: Git & CI/CD habits (YAML) and knowledge in Bicep or Terraform.
* Security: Basic understanding of security & governance in cloud data stacks e.g. Managed Identities, Service Principles, Role Assignments (RBAC), Object IDs, Private Endpoint usage
* Curious mindset with an appetite for self-development.
* Languages: Comfortable communicating in English and Dutch (French is a plus).
Nice-to-haves
* IoT & industrial data: Experience integrating and managing IoT or industrial data streams.
* Certifications: Relevant Azure or Databricks certifications are a plus.
* Modern tools exposure: Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse or equivalent.
What does the process look like?
Step 1: CV
* You share your CV via the form on the website. After this, you will receive an E-mail to confirm your submission, that mail will also describe any potential next steps for you.
Step 2: Personal Video
* To help us get to know you better, we’d love for you to record a short, 1-minute video sharing something about yourself that isn’t on your resume. This is in line with our “people first” philosophy. Technical details are shared via E-mail.
Step 3: Capacity tests
* We will share 3 tests with you that you can perform online at your own convenience. These tests concern your verbal, numerical & abstract skills and will be used to further assess your application. All details will be shared with you via E-mail.
Step 4: Interview
* In this step you will have an interview with someone from our team where we talk about your desires, ambitions, past experiences etc. The goal is to determine if we are fit for each other.
Step 5: Assessment day
* We invite you to our office for the assessment day! Upfront, you will receive a personality test and a case study with matching dataset, the idea of the case is that you present the findings of your analysis back to us. Next to the case, you will also take part in a roleplay and we will discuss the results of your personality test together.
Step 6: Contract
* In this final step we have a conversation about your contract and work out all practicalities together. Join the club!
