About the program
This is a structured development program designed to kickstart your career and allow you to grow both personally and professionally, while contributing to UCB ambition. This Graduate Development Program is a 2-year rotational program consisting of usually 3 rotations within the Patient Supply organization.
The Patient Supply organization encompasses a broad range of operations, including CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing & Controls) Development Sciences, Devices, Artwork & Packaging, Internal and External Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Management. These functions are integral in the journey from manufacturing early pipeline clinical study materials, through developing manufacturing processes and analytical methods, to the global distribution of approved brands to patients.
Through this program, you will gain practical, hands-on experience that will allow you to build a strong foundation to pursue a career in a biopharmaceutical environment while expanding your understanding of an international business ecosystem.
You will develop critical knowledge and competencies within a dynamic and multidisciplinary context, enabling you to participate in short-, medium-, and long-term business objectives. The ever-evolving nature of this environment offers continuous learning opportunities and varied challenges, ensuring a stimulating and diverse professional experience.
Who you’ll work with
You will have the opportunity to collaborate with individuals across multiple levels of the organization, from diverse functional teams to senior leadership. This exposure will allow you to engage with a broad spectrum of expertise and perspectives, enhancing both your professional network and strategic understanding. You will be part of an organization of dedicated professionals united by a shared commitment to delivering meaningful value to patients.
Concretely, you will interact with experienced managers who will provide guidance and coaching throughout your rotations. You will be paired with a mentor to support your career development and a buddy to help you navigate day-to-day life at UCB.
Finally, you will also be part of UCB Early Talent community and connect with other graduates across the organization through learning and development sessions, networking, and social activities.
What you’ll learn
Although you will receive support and guidance throughout the program, we expect you to take ownership of your development to actively contribute to your personal growth but also to the collective success of the team.
Throughout the 2-year program, you will be assigned to different projects and teams that will allow you to develop strategic capabilities to lead in the biopharma industry of tomorrow - from digital fluency and sustainability awareness to cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of evolving manufacturing and regulatory landscapes. You’ll have the opportunity to develop skills like project management, problem-solving, continuous improvement, operational excellence, data analysis, regulatory compliance and digital systems used in biomanufacturing.
By the end of the program, you will have a comprehensive understanding of our operations, including the critical role of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in ensuring product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance—foundational elements in the biopharmaceutical industry and you will be equipped with the skills and confidence to take on new challenges and shape a career aligned with your ambitions.
