Ph3Your role /h3 pAs a Group Senior Project Engineer, you are responsible for the end‑to‑end design, engineering, and execution of small to medium scale capital projects across the Vandemoortele bakery division operations network. This role provides technical leadership on standard to complex projects, ensures alignment with group engineering standards, and supports business objectives related to capacity expansion, efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability. /p pYou will work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, procurement and HSE departments as well as external engineering partners, and act as a technical authority during project definition, execution, commissioning and start‑up. /p h3Your key responsibilities /h3 ul liYou lead the conceptual design, basic engineering, and detailed engineering of food manufacturing projects (process, utilities, infrastructure). /li liYou define technical specifications, equipment selection, layouts, PFDs, basic PIDs and automation concepts in compliance with: ul liFood safety standards (HACCP, BRC, IFS, …) /li liHygiene design principles (EHEDG, … where applicable) /li liLocal and international regulations /li /ul /li liYou standardize engineering solutions and best practices across group sites. /li liYou apply the group “Project Management Process” during the project lifecycle. /li libProject Execution Implementation /b ul liYou manage capital projects from feasibility through commissioning and handover. /li liYou develop and control project scope, schedule, budget, and risks. /li liYou coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors, suppliers, and engineering partners when needed. /li liYou oversee construction, installation, site supervision, and FAT/SAT activities. /li liYou collaborate on creating an optimal plan for commissioning, start‑up, and performance verification (including OEE ramp‑up). /li /ul /li libStakeholder Cross‑Functional Collaboration /b ul liYou act as the technical interface between group engineering, plant teams, quality, HSE, procurement, and finance. /li liYou support sites during project execution and post‑implementation optimization. /li liYou provide technical input for CAPEX planning, business cases, and investment prioritization. /li /ul /li libOperations, Quality, Safety Compliance /b ul liYou ensure all projects comply with food safety, hygienic design, HSE, and legal requirements. /li liYou initiate and support risk‑assessment sessions (FMEA, HAZOP, hygienic risk analysis, etc.) throughout the project lifecycle. /li liYou promote safe construction practices and strong contractor safety performance. /li /ul /li liYou identify opportunities for process optimization, energy efficiency, digitalization, and sustainability. /li liYou benchmark new technologies and drive the adoption of scalable, future‑proof solutions. /li liYou support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs. /li libTeam Contribution /b ul liYou actively participate in recurring engineering team meetings. /li liYou collaborate on internal or cross‑team initiatives to continuously improve internal engineering and project‑management processes. /li /ul /li /ul h3What’s in for you? /h3 ul libYou will join our big little family: /b Our associates are the beating heart of our company – they bring the flavour to our organisation. Lease a bike at Vandemoortele! /li /ul h3About you /h3 ul liYou hold a master’s degree in engineering and have 10+ years of experience managing greenfield and brownfield projects, including complex CAPEX programs in operational manufacturing environments. /li liYou ideally bring experience from the food or beverage industry and are familiar with concepts such as Early Equipment Management (EEM). /li liYou have expertise in one or more relevant technical domains, such as food‑processing technologies, hygienic design, utilities (steam, refrigeration, compressed air, CIP, water treatment), automation, or process control. /li liYou have experience or strong interest in sustainability, energy efficiency, or digital‑manufacturing initiatives. /li liYou combine strong project‑management skills with solid technical leadership, operating comfortably at both strategic and hands‑on levels. /li liYou communicate clearly, influence stakeholders effectively, and work confidently in multisite and multicultural settings. /li liYou take a structured, analytical approach to problem‑solving and make sound, risk‑based decisions. /li liYou are fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch, French, or Italian is an advantage. /li liYou are willing and able to travel up to 30% of your time to support projects across Europe and occasionally beyond. /li /ul pFor questions or additional information, mail: /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
