Overview
You will work on strategic IT initiatives for a key player in the European energy landscape. The organisation operates mission-critical systems that support the reliability and sustainability of the electricity grid across Belgium and Germany.
You join a complex IT environment where application development, integration, and operational stability are equally important. Projects range from new digital solutions to the continuous evolution and maintenance of existing applications, primarily built on the Microsoft technology stack. You combine project management, application ownership, and Agile delivery, often acting as the Scrum Master within the team.
What You’ll Do
* You lead IT projects and product teams from initiation to production, including scope, budget, timeline, and risk management.
* You operate within Agile/Scrum teams and facilitate ceremonies, often taking on the Scrum Master role.
* You work with the business to define priorities, backlog content, and sprint objectives.
* You challenge and refine business requirements before approval.
* You validate functional specifications and translate them into technical-functional designs aligned with the Microsoft (.NET) stack.
* You coordinate and manage internal and external development teams together with technical leads.
* You oversee software developed internally and externally, ensuring alignment with architecture and quality standards.
* You define and validate test and quality strategies and monitor them through rollout.
* You manage production releases and ensure smooth transitions to operations.
* You provide second-line support and drive incident management and resolution.
* You collaborate with upstream and downstream IT teams to manage dependencies and realise synergies across systems.
Requirements
* You have several years of proven experience as an IT Project Manager, Application Manager, or Business Analyst in complex IT environments.
* You have hands-on experience managing end-to-end IT projects, including scope, budget, planning, risk management, delivery, and go-live.
* You have strong experience working with Microsoft-based application landscapes, including .NET, Visual Studio, and SQL Server, and you can discuss technical topics fluently with developers and architects.
* You have mandatory experience working in Agile / Scrum environments, and you are comfortable facilitating ceremonies and working with product backlogs and sprints.
* You have experience coordinating internal teams, external partners, and software vendors, including follow-up on externally developed solutions.
* You have experience validating business requirements, reviewing specifications, and translating them into technical-functional designs.
* You have experience defining and monitoring testing and quality strategies, supporting releases, and ensuring stable handover to operations.
* You have experience supporting application maintenance and incident management in a production environment.
* You hold a university degree in IT, engineering, or electricity, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the energy or electricity sector is a strong asset.
* You communicate fluently in English and are fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good understanding of the other national language.
