Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical / E&I)Location: Antwerp region, BelgiumWork Setup: OnsiteContract Type: Freelance / ZZPStart: SeptemberA chemical production site in the Antwerp region is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support reliability and maintenance activities across the plant.The team is looking for practical engineers with either a Mechanical or E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) background who are comfortable working close to operations, troubleshooting issues on site and supporting day-to-day maintenance activities within a live production environment.Role ResponsibilitiesSupport maintenance and reliability activities across the chemical production siteTroubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical or instrumentation-related issuesAnalyse faults and implement structured problem-solving approachesWork closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimise downtimeSupport preventive and corrective maintenance activitiesInvestigate recurring technical issues and contribute to long-term improvementsCoordinate with technicians and contractors during maintenance and shutdown activitiesRequirementsBackground in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Instrumentation EngineeringStrong hands-on experience within industrial maintenance environmentsPractical troubleshooting mindset with the ability to solve technical problems in a structured wayExperience working within chemical, process or heavy industrial environments is preferredComfortable working onsite within an operational production plantStrong communication and coordination skillsDutch required
