About the roleYou’ll play a strategic and technical role, working closely with software engineers, product teams, and domain experts to turn raw data into actionable intelligence using advanced AI techniques. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-critical platform development effort that combines machine learning, high-performance computing, and infrastructure modeling—all hosted in MS Azure.Your Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines for the ingestion, processing, and enrichment of network-related data.Co-create and maintain AI/ML models to support tasks such as prediction, optimization, anomaly detection, and digital twins.Ensure seamless integration of AI workflows into a scalable cloud-based platform hosted in Microsoft Azure.Collaborate with product owners, engineering teams and data partners to ensure business requirements translate into technically sound and efficient data solutions.Evaluate and apply the right mix of AI techniques (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, symbolic AI) based on project goals.Support the implementation of data governance, quality, and security protocols.Stay current on emerging trends in AI, data platforms, and telecom/energy network analytics.Your profileAt least 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, AI/ML, or applied data science roles.Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.Solid experience with Python and C++ for data processing, modeling, and system integration.Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including data storage, compute, and AI tools.Experience with large-scale data platforms, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or telecommunications sectors.Strong conceptual understanding of AI architectures, model training pipelines, and MLOps.Fluent in Dutch and English; additional languages are an asset.Problem-solving mindset, with an ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.Nice to HaveBackground in network modeling, geospatial data, or digital twins.Familiarity with distributed data processing (e.g., Spark, Dask).Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD workflows.What We OfferA key role in the development of a transformative data platform with real-world impact.A supportive, innovation-driven team culture with strong technical leadership.Work flexibility in Brussels and/or Hasselt, plus hybrid options.Competitive salary, company car, growth plan and benefits tailored to your experience.Do you want to think ahead in sustainable solutions for tomorrow’s infrastructures?
