Job Title: Commercial Ambassador
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) aims to create equitable economic opportunities across the State of Illinois. This involves attracting and supporting major job creators, investing in communities, strengthening the world-class workforce, fostering innovation, and ushering in the new clean energy economy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Represent the State of Illinois in Europe, primarily in the EU and the United Kingdom, focusing on trade and investment.
* Develop and execute strategies to promote Illinois exports and attract foreign direct investment.
* Provide market intelligence, matchmaking, and support services to Illinois companies entering the European market.
* Identify and engage potential European investors interested in establishing or expanding operations in Illinois.
* Organize trade missions, investment seminars, and networking events.
* Collaborate with U.S. and European government agencies, chambers of commerce, and industry associations.
* Prepare regular reports and updates for the Illinois Office of Trade and Investment based in Chicago.
