Your challenge as Quality Manager is to be the driving force behind the quality and food safety management system. You ensure that our Herent plant complies with all regulations and customer requirements (BRC, IFS, FAVV, Organic, Halal). With your expertise, you define hygiene and food safety standards to meet customer expectations and ensure these standards are maintained through systematic follow-up.
About the Role
As Quality Manager, you are responsible for managing and improving the food defense plan together with the food defense team
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate quality and food safety policies (HACCP, GMP)
Responsible for the QC laboratory performing daily analyses
Coach and manage a team of 7 QA/QC employees
Manage quality-related projects
Prepare, conduct, and support internal and external audits
Monitor legislation and perform risk analyses
Raise awareness and train staff on quality and food safety topics
Oversee hygiene, safety, and cleaning processes
Manage supplier evaluations and complaint follow-up
Qualifications
~ Master’s degree in a food-related field
~3–5 years of relevant experience in quality management within the food industry
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, IFS, and food safety regulations
Experience with audits, quality control, and process optimization
Strong analytical and communication skills
Team player with leadership capabilities
Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus
