Our client based in Brussels is looking for a Geotechnical Design Engineer.
Profile
* You hold a degree as a Civil Engineer in Construction.
* You have 10 to 14 years of relevant experience in geotechnics, including several years as a geotechnical engineer.
* You are proficient in geotechnical calculation software and MS Office.
* You are communicative, meticulous, methodical, and autonomous, and able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
* You have an excellent command of Dutch or French, and ideally a good knowledge of English.
Mission
As a Geotechnical Design Engineer, you carry out project studies, guide draftsmen in preparing plans, assist in developing schedules and work phasing, prepare the technical aspects of specifications, and provide technical support or site supervision to ensure that the infrastructure to be built or adapted meets client requirements as well as applicable standards and specifications.
Specifically, You
* Study and design geotechnical structures such as foundations, retaining walls, special techniques, embankments and excavations, soil improvement, etc.
* Guide CAD designers in preparing detailed plans.
* Assist in developing schedules and work phasing.
* Analyze problems and propose feasible solutions, considering budget, timing, and execution feasibility.
* Collaborate within an interdisciplinary engineering team (geotechnics, hydraulics, track design, catenary, signaling…) to ensure integration and consistency.
* Draft technical clauses for specifications and provide technical assistance to site teams.
* Report project progress and results to stakeholders.
