Our client is looking for a Senior Security Engineer / Project Manager to strengthen its digital security posture across several IT domains, including infrastructure, software development and OT environments.
The role combines end‑to‑end security project management, hands‑on technical expertise and an advisory position towards internal digital teams. The consultant will be responsible for delivering security initiatives, improving security processes and supporting the implementation of security‑by‑design principles across complex enterprise environments.
The consultant will manage and deliver security projects from initiation to implementation, including project planning, stakeholder coordination, scope, budget and timeline follow‑up, and the delivery of technical security solutions.
The mission also includes analysing, defining and improving security processes, procedures and controls, translating security policies into practical guidelines and workflows, and contributing to continuous improvement based on incidents, risk assessments and lessons learned.
The consultant will act as a trusted advisor for internal stakeholders within digital teams, providing guidance on technical security implementations, architecture choices, risk assessments and mitigation measures.
A strong technical contribution is expected, especially around modern security platforms such as Microsoft Defender, Entra ID / Active Directory and Identity & Access Management solutions. The consultant will also support troubleshooting, incident analysis and the optimisation of security tools.
Qualifications
Proven experience in security project management and technical delivery
Strong background in enterprise IT environments, ideally as a System Engineer
Solid knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, architectures and technical solutions
Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, Active Directory and IAM
Good understanding of security‑by‑design principles
Experience with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls and CyberFundamentals
Knowledge of NIS2 is a strong asset
Ability to analyse incidents, identify structural improvements and follow up on remediation actions
Strong communication, advisory and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, result‑oriented and solution‑driven mindset
Dutch native or bilingual proficiency required
At least 7 years of professional experience in IT
Fluent in Dutch is best
