Job Purpose
The purpose of the EPC Business Development Manager is to drive and manage the growth of IA business with domestic and international EPCs (Engineering, Procurement and Construction). The role focuses on developing and sustaining strong relationships with key EPC clients, identifying short‑to‑mid‑term business opportunities, and ensuring successful execution of sales strategies in line with the operational sales plan and the agreed personal/team targets.

Job Role
* Understand client needs, opportunity pipeline management, business strategy, positioning Yokogawa as the preferred partner against competitors, and proactively introduce Yokogawa solutions tailored to each EPC.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements, ensure satisfaction, and achieve sales and revenue targets within EPCs.
* Expand YIL’s footprint in YIL territories where EPC companies undertake projects, building long‑term relationships and driving overall success and growth in this sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Understand customers’ needs and business or project investment plans for short‑ to mid‑term actions.
* Monitor competitor activities toward EPCs during the sales process and provide actionable feedback to refine tactical approaches.
* Identify stakeholders of each EPC, assess decision‑making influences, and build trust to positively influence C‑level decisions for Yokogawa.
* Map the main project ecosystem (End users, OEMs, Integrators, etc.) and share information with colleagues to generate additional opportunities.
* Guide internal stakeholders to increase business from respective EPCs with sales strategies sourced from direct customer and market knowledge.
* Coordinate closely with front‑end sales to approach end users involved with each EPC.
* Coordinate with Yokogawa organizations worldwide for international projects to maximize scope.
* Provide or organize technical presentations demonstrating how Yokogawa’s solutions can meet customers’ expectations.
Skills and Competency
Technical Expertise
* Basic knowledge and experience in oil & gas, refinery and petrochemical, fertilizers, power, renewable energy, and clean energy (green hydrogen, green ammonia, SAF, CCS/CCUS).
* Understanding of product, system, and application in an industrial automation domain.
* Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly during discussions with clients.
Sales and Stakeholder Management
* Expertise in building and executing sales strategies tailored to EPC’s complex opportunities.
* Interpersonal skills to build trust and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and internal teams.
* Strong influencing and proactive decision‑making skills to drive favourable outcomes.
Market and Competitive Awareness
* Capability to handle multiple sales opportunities and bidding processes simultaneously.
* Ability to collect and analyze market trends and direct knowledge from clients, providing strategic insights to sales and business units.
Other Competencies
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective client engagement and reporting.
* Proficiency in preparing and/or leading technical presentations.
* Collaborative mindset to align with internal stakeholders and achieve shared goals.
* Flexibility to work across diverse geographies, multi‑functional teams, and timely customer visits.
Education
Graduate in Engineering – preferably in Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical.
Experience
15 to 20 years of experience in sales roles, preferably handling EPC accounts for instrumentation and automation products.
