This role is part of the Americas HR team and is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll for Brazil and Mexico. The role balances day‑to‑day payroll oversight and execution support with strong accountability for local governance, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
This position serves as a key link between local HR, Finance, and the Global Payroll Shared Services, ensuring payroll activities are executed correctly while meeting all federal, statutory, and internal control requirements.
What you’ll be doing
Responsibilities
* Govern end‑to‑end payroll processing for Brazil and Mexico in partnership with the Global Payroll Shared Services function and/or external vendors.
* Validate and review payroll inputs and outputs, including:
o New hires, terminations, and employee changes
o Salary adjustments, variable pay, and retroactive payments
o Overtime, absences, and leave‑related pay
* Review payroll registers and post‑payroll outputs for accuracy and completeness prior to finalization.
* Authorise payment files on banking platform to release employee payments.
* Support payroll issue resolution, including complex pay corrections and employee escalations.
* Partner with HR, Finance and senior stakeholders to ensure payroll impacts of HR actions are correctly executed.
Compliance, Governance & Regulatory Adherence
* Ensure payroll practices for Brazil and Mexico comply with:
o Local labor laws and employment regulations
o Federal, tax, and social security requirements
o Collective bargaining agreements and union rules (where applicable)
* Maintain strong understanding of local payroll regulations and monitor legislative changes.
* Assess regulatory updates and coordinate required payroll or process changes with payroll vendors and internal teams.
* Ensure payroll activities align with internal policies, governance standards, and control frameworks.
Controls, Audits & Risk Management
* Execute payroll control activities, including monthly validations, reconciliations, and reasonableness checks.
* Support internal and external audits related to payroll.
* Prepare audit documentation and respond to auditor or regulator inquiries.
* Track audit findings, support remediation actions, and ensure timely closure.
* Identify payroll‑related risks and recommend practical control or process improvements.
* Support profit‑sharing, statutory payments, and regulatory reporting for Brazil and Mexico.
* Maintain payroll documentation, including procedures, control evidence, and compliance records.
Stakeholder Management
* Manage the payroll inbox and respond to employee and stakeholder inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
* Partner effectively with HR, Finance, and Global Payroll Shared Services to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Provide reliable support to HR and business stakeholders across the Americas as needed.
* Support union‑related payroll and compliance requirements.
* Managing the vendor relationship at a country operational level.
You will report to the HR Chief Operating Officer, Americas.
What you’ll bring
* Previous experience in payroll administration; experience within HR or financial services environments strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and confidentiality requirements.
* Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
* High attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.
* Customer‑focused mindset with a professional and collaborative approach.
* Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage across levels and geographies.
* Advanced Excel and intermediate proficiency in Word and Outlook.
* Experience working with HR and payroll systems.
* Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
* Tri‑lingual in Portuguese, Spanish and English preferred.
