Location: Beerse, Belgium
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team driving formulation and process development from late discovery through clinical phases, with a focus on patient-centric solutions. The work spans a wide range of dosage forms-solutions, suspensions, liposomes, biodegradable microspheres and rods-and administration routes including oral, injectable (IV, IM, SC), topical, nasal, ophthalmic, transdermal, intrathecal, and inhalation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop innovative formulations for parenteral and liquid dosage forms.
* Execute hands-on laboratory work, including formulation preparation, process optimization, and scale-up activities.
* Document experimental results in electronic lab notebooks and technical reports.
* Support clinical trial manufacturing through technology transfer and preparation of master batch records.
* Contribute to regulatory documentation and provide scientific input for health authority interactions.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., Analytical Development, Quality, Supply Chain) and external partners (e.g., academic institutions, CDMOs).
* Stay abreast of scientific literature and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and IP generation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or Chemical Engineering.
* Hands-on experience in formulation and process development for parenteral and liquid drug products, particularly long-acting or targeted release injectables.
* Solid understanding of physical pharmacy, particle engineering, and sterile manufacturing processes. Experience with milling, nanonization, and lyophilization is a plus.
* Familiarity with advanced drug delivery systems such as nanosuspensions, microspheres, liposomes, gels, and biodegradable implants is highly desirable.
* Strong scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a mindset for innovation.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
* Comfortable conducting experiments in a modern laboratory setting with a focus on safety and accuracy.
