We are looking for a driven and highly motivated Business Development Director, Oncology to join our Oncology Business Development & Licensing team.
This role is designed for an ambitious BD professional with oncology deal-making experience who is ready to take the next step in their career. Reporting to a senior BD leader, the successful candidate will support oncology BD&L activities, contribute to deal processes, and help advance business opportunities across new and existing portfolio assets.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is curious, commercially minded, scientifically engaged, and eager to grow within a global oncology organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Support oncology BD&L activities focused on identifying and advancing new business opportunities.
* Support deal-making processes for preclinical and clinical-stage oncology assets.
* Lead activities related to lifecycle management of the existing oncology portfolio.
* Help coordinate cross-functional activities to enable efficient and well-aligned deal processes.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
* Work closely with senior BD leadership to support project planning, execution, and follow-through.
* Ensure activities are conducted in line with company standards, governance processes, and compliance requirements.
Required Experience and Qualifications
* Degree in life sciences or equivalent; a degree in law or economics may also be relevant.
* MBA from a leading business school is a strong advantage.
* 5+ years of experience in oncology business development, with hands‑on experience supporting collaborations and in‑/out‑licensing activities.
* Good understanding of the oncology pharma/biotech environment, including deal‑making trends and the oncology landscape.

* Ability to understand oncology science and translate it into business relevance.
* Business acumen and ability to work with key business case assumptions and top‑line KPIs.
* Ability to manage requests from senior internal stakeholders and support high‑quality contracting alignment across cross‑functional teams.
* Strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to generate meaningful business insights and precise deal benchmarking.
* Agile team player with the capability to drive multiple parallel projects from planning through execution with increasing autonomy, while taking ownership of project workstreams.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Flexible, versatile, collaborative, and comfortable working across multiple functions and geographies.
* Strong team orientation, with the ability to support projects from planning through execution.
* Willingness to travel internationally as needed, approximately 15%.
