Your mission
As an Energy & Sustainability Asset Engineer, you play a key role in optimizing and further developing WDP’s energy platform (solar, EV and BESS). You monitor the performance of our installations, identify opportunities and ensure that our asset management evolves to a higher level. In addition, you contribute to new projects and take the lead in process improvement initiatives within the team. In this role, you report to the Energy & Sustainability Manager and can rely on the support of a small team of experts in areas such as project development, operational management, energy markets, AI and data.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the production and availability of our energy assets in the BeFraLux region: solar panels, batteries, EV charging infrastructure, etc.
* Performing analyses on the performance of our installations and using the results to implement corrective actions, initiate improvement projects and detect structural issues
* Collaborating with our maintenance partners, overseeing the results of annual inspections as well as corrective maintenance activities, and defining the necessary actions
* Managing the operational budget for the maintenance and upkeep of the installations
* Investigating recurring issues encountered by maintenance teams
* Coordinating repowering initiatives, improvement projects and smaller new-build projects within the energy portfolio
* Analyzing incidents and defining policies for maintenance, repair and replacement activities
* Proposing improvements to technical specifications
* Analyzing diagnostic methods to improve asset reliability and extend their lifespan
* Collaborating with colleagues in the Netherlands and Romania to support standardization projects in our processes and tools
Here’s your profile
* You hold a master’s degree in a technical field, preferably in electricity, electronics, or electromechanics; experience with PV installations is a plus.
* You can work independently and take initiative.
* You are willing to further develop your understanding of the financial aspects of projects, enabling you to perform your role more effectively.
* You communicate clearly and assertively with all stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* You are willing to travel across the entire region.
* You are meticulous in maintaining all administrative tasks, both on paper and digitally.
* You are fluent in Dutch and have a very good knowledge of French and English.
