Ph3Role Overview /h3 pVP, Head of Marine Belgium Netherlands in the Belgium Netherlands team. /p pThis role works closely with the Country Manager Belgium Netherlands and the Continental Europe Line of Business Head for Marine to develop and expand client and broker relationships, accelerate profitable growth, and achieve profitability targets in line with local, regional and global strategies. /p pKey responsibilities include acting as a company ambassador, building relationships with external stakeholders, and supporting profitable growth across Belgium and the Netherlands. /p h3Location /h3 pBased out of our Brussels or Rotterdam office. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liOwn full PL accountability and lead the development and execution of the market strategy for Marine in Belgium and the Netherlands. /li liContribute to the growth and expected profitability of the Sompo International Marine portfolio by actively sourcing submissions. /li liProactively negotiate with clients and brokers to build relationships and develop new and renewal business. /li liBuild and manage a well‑diversified, balanced book in terms of risk profile and segmentation. /li liActively participate in the development of underwriting strategies within the Marine team at European level. /li liParticipate in the local management team. /li liAnalyse underwriting information, create offers and ensure appropriate terms and conditions are secured. /li liPerform contract negotiation and travel to client meetings to present to customers and brokers. /li liDevelop, launch and maintain local language Marine product versions while monitoring local market and product developments. /li liEnsure underwriting document filings, accuracy of data entries to systems and contract integrity for underwritten accounts. /li liInteract, communicate and negotiate with all levels of external and internal business partners. /li liSupport marketing efforts with high‑quality, original solutions to enhance Sompo International’s reputation and market presence. /li liLead value‑add projects, developments and activities as required. /li liRepresent Sompo externally at the highest level, including the press, industry forums and corporate communications events, to raise the company’s profile within the marketplace. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul li10+ years of experience in underwriting and senior management positions in Marine in the Netherlands and Belgium; wider experience is a plus. /li liDeep insurance industry knowledge, supported by relevant qualifications and a strong track record of accomplishment. /li liExpertise in underwriting global Marine insurance programs. /li liBroad network within the Dutch and Belgian broker and in‑house risk manager community. /li liStrong, visible leadership skills that empower and enable others. /li liBusiness‑building mindset with a track record of growing profitable book of insurance business. /li liExcellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; able to provide clear direction through periods of change. /li liHighest levels of integrity. /li liDeep knowledge of international management processes and corporate dynamics as well as a thorough understanding of the market and industry environment. /li liStrong understanding of economic relationships and business models in the insurance industry. /li liEntrepreneurial mindset and the ability to recognize opportunities and approach new trends. /li liStrategic thinking with a proven ability to deliver tactical solutions; experience in developing and executing annual and long‑term strategic plans. /li liGood understanding of the insurance regulatory environment and its influence on business development, underwriting and claims management strategies. /li liDemonstrated leadership in performance management and team building, combined with extensive skills in analysing and solving issues or problems. /li liStrong emotional intelligence and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. /li liLanguage skills: English; any other European language is a plus. /li liWillingness to travel internationally as required. /li /ul h3Benefits /h3 ul liExpansive Health Wellness Benefits /li liGenerous Retirement Savings Plans /li liGlobal Parental Leave Adoption Assistance /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
