Cost Accounting Sr. Analyst
Location: Palermo, City of Buenos Aires, Argentina
Your Role Within the Team
* Lead cost control, analysis, and reporting for engineering services provided from Argentina to Canada.
* Support forecasts and cash‑flow analysis in a multi‑currency, international environment.
* Monitor and control project and operational costs billed to Head Office.
* Ensure accurate allocation of direct labor, overheads, and indirect costs.
* Analyze budget vs. actuals, identify variances, determine root causes, and propose corrective actions.
* Develop and maintain cost models for pricing, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
* Prepare and review monthly cost reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
* Be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the new costing system.
* Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes related to cost accounting.
* Provide timely and reliable financial insights to management in Argentina and Canada.
* Support cost‑related forecasting and budgeting processes.
* Act as key user for cost processes within the ERP system (Accpac/Sage or Oracle as a plus).
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
* Support internal and external audits as primary contact for cost topics.
* Identify and lead process improvements to enhance cost visibility, accuracy, and efficiency.
The Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (CPA, CA, or equivalent a plus).
* Strong accounting foundation with advanced cost and management accounting knowledge.
* 5–8 years of experience in cost control, management accounting, or financial analysis.
* Experience in a service‑based, engineering, or project‑driven environment.
* Exposure to international operations and intercompany transactions.
* Strong knowledge of ERP and accounting systems (Accpac/Sage and Oracle a plus).
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, financial models, data analysis).
* Ability to manage complex cost structures and multi‑currency environments.
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
* High accuracy, ownership, and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders.
* Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
