Functional Safety Specialist – East Antwerp – Freelance / Self-Employed Basis – 12 months
I am currently looking for a SIL / HAZOP focused Functional Safety Specialist to join a pharmaceutical client-based East of Antwerp. This is to join immediately on a 12-month initial contract.
Key experience with HAZOPs, LOPA, SIL will be key in this role. You will be working with a contractor on the pharmaceutical end client's site on a hybrid basis.
* START: ASAP to 1 month
* DURATION: 12 months + (rolling contract)
* LOCATION: East of Antwerp
* WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid. 1-2 days from home, the rest onsite.

Specification:
* Functional Safety standards, knowledge & experience (3-5+years).
* Pharmaceutical, (petro)chemical, FMCG, energy industries experience.
* Knowledge & experience working on HAZOPs, LOPAs, Safety Integrated Level (SIL) and site functional safety.
* Specific standards: IEC61882, IEC61508, IEC61511, ATEX, SIL, HAZOP, LOPA.
* Dutch & English speaking is essential.
* Ability to integrate within a cross functional team consisting of colleagues form the contractors, end client employees and other stakeholders.
* Work on measure of reliability for safety functions designed to reduce risks identified in a HAZOP or other risk assessments.
* Complete systematic studies to identify process hazards.
The client can interview and offer next week to start immediately (at your earliest convenience).
Following the initial year contract, extension is very likely.
